Every individual has the right for education.  He has the right to gain knowledge and enhance his ability and skill to have a better future.  Thus, the government ensures that every Filipino will have the chance to be educated.

The government provides free primary education for the youth – elementary and secondary.  This primary or basic education is compulsory to assure that no school-age individual is not sent to school.

In the elementary grade, he is taught of the basic skills that are needed like simple arithmetic, reading, writing, listening and speaking.  His values and attitude are also developed like getting along with other children, self-discipline, independence.

As he enters high school he is trained and taught of skills and knowledge that will mold him to become a good and responsible citizen of our country.  He is prepared to face the world of challenges and become more mature that he can make wise decisions and ready to enter the world of work.

Education is not only for the young but also for adults who want to study.  These adults have the right to make their lives better as well as the lives of their children.

But it is a sad fact that not all Filipinos have the chance to attend schooling for some reasons like financial problem, physical handicap, employment, distant school, and sometimes no school in the community.

With these problems the government launched some programs that can help them improve and enhance their skills and have a good quality of life such as Alternative Learning System (ALS) and Open High School.  These programs do not require the students to report in the school; instead they are given modules to answer at home and visit the school once a week.

This means that learning can be achieved by every Filipino – young and adult- despite of whatever problem they have.  Thus, EDUCATION is really FOR ALL.
