Just recently the Philippines has completely implemented the K – 12 curriculum, which changed the 10-year basic education to 12 years,  in the elementary and secondary levels. This step will greatly make our youth ready and well-equipped to face life challenges. The Philippines finds itself in equal footing with other countries in the delivery and quality of education that it offers to its people.

In terms of contents, K to 12 Education has an extensive list of subjects  for each grade level.  The notable goal of the fully implemented curriculum is to give ample time to students in mastering skills and concepts most especially the ones in their respective inclinations. In addition, K to 12 advocates the basic to complex approach.  Since the child is the center of the educative system, the development of learning should start from basic to composite in order to prepare him well in the coming activities.

Significantly, K to 12 Program supports a 7-point agenda. The seven points are as follows: implementing Mandaris education, making a child a reader, improving math and science instructions, expanding government assistance, providing better textbooks, building more classrooms, and re-introducing techvoc education.

Since the Philippines attracts students from the Asia-Pacific region, it is just right that the our educational system has leveled up in order to cater the needs of the learners,  Having sufficient time to study, introducing more skills, and catering diverse learners are the significant aspects of K to 12 curriculum. The education system gives the Filipino learners a competitive edge which will bring them to better future in their respective endeavors.

K to 12 in Philippine Education is surely at its finest!
