Educators play a strategic role in the management of human resources in the school environment. They are the headmasters in running an education unit level in school. It is essential for them to make efforts in giving assistance to all learners, especially those who are aiming for improvement and success in learning.
Given this critical role, quality supervision plans that are aligned to the DepEd’s Sulong Edukalidad should be considered. It is imperative for all school personnel to link and bridge the BE-LCOP to DepEd’s pivot to quality education at distance learning under the framework of Sulong Edukalidad and future thinking in education. Since it has four key reform areas such as (1) K to 12 Curriculum review and update; (2) Improvement of learning environment (3) Teachers’ upskilling and reskilling; and (4) Engagement of stakeholders for support and collaboration, educators need to be carefully found solutions and innovation in tackling problems, issues, and challenges by using foundational and specialized knowledge and skills.
However, proper facilitation of teaching and learning based on the scenarios projected by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) are also the major concerns. With that conviction that access to quality basic education is the primary step towards achieving good future of the learners, teachers should try to share their knowledge and skills so that all learners will achieve and sustain the delivery of quality accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education services for all school-age population amid the COVID-19 emergency.
