A school administrator of the current time must be responsible and effective in fulfilling its tasks as a school leader in order to direct all the school undertakings that will lead the institution to its betterment.

It is a fact that school administration involves both management duties and leadership opportunities.  It is essential that educational or school managers must be cognizant to the habits of highly effective administrators.

Educational administrators must be familiarized with these habits that will transform them into a better and effective school administrator.

Primarily, a school administrator must envision the ideal.  Effective school leaders have a great vision for the school and how it will look like.  The vision will help create the culture and atmosphere of the schools in which they work. A clear path to directly achieve the goal will be created.  This should be done for the benefit of the learners who are in the center of the educative process.

Secondly, a school administrator must act as the representative of the missing voice.  An important role of the administrator is to settle conflicts and to resolve the problems. There are inevitable complaints from parents, teachers and students.  An effective administrator must know how to appease them and apply ways to make both parties meet a win-win solution.

Thirdly, a school administrator must listen keenly and interpret intelligently.  There are people who may give their point of view or suggestion.  An effective school administrator must have a critical mind to consider what is right and to invalidate what is not.

Fourth, a school administrator must reflect or contemplate constantly.  An effective administrator must think of the means in doing things better or even on the best degree.  Flaws must be eradicated in planning and the execution of the organized plans must be extremely enhanced.

Fifth, a school administrator must consider the capacity of others.  Realistic leaders know that they are not the only people within the building capable of completing the task. Learn how to delegate and trust others.

Sixth, a school administrator must encourage complete student learning.  The true administrator must focus on the instructions being given to the students.  The curriculum and teaching process must be well-strengthened in producing better quality of graduates thus yielding better quality of people for the society.

School administrators are essential to the success of any educational institution. They work twelve months a year and their tasks may range from managing the school operations to assuring the execution of curriculum contents. Since school administrators are so vital to the success of the school, it is important that they possess the habits of highly effective school leaders.
