Classroom management is a way of handling students, resources and the classroom setting in order to yield a pleasant and organized class set up.

In achieving this process, a good teacher must consider the following principles:

            Create a fine first impression.

It is necessary to establish a good impression to your learners by exhibiting a pleasant and inviting image.

Be in school with enthusiasm and show excitement to be with them.

By means of a teacher’s genuine interest in teaching and in dealing with the learners, in return the learners will be able to establish interest in their studies.

Curtail the power differential in everyday communication.

Don’t think of dominating attitude as a leader instead be close with students to the point that you are giving your helping hand.

Address problem behavior directly and immediately.

Give attention to those problems that arise in the class at once.  Rectifying undesirable behaviors and action is better in order not to create repercussions.

Know the power of proximity.

Do not create a distance between you and your students instead use your power to reach them and attend to their concerns.

Think Prevention.

If a problem existed, think of an immediate prevention not to cause a fire.  It is better to avoid a conflict.

Exemplify behaviors you expect from the students: mutual respect, active listening, interest in learning, subject enthusiasm, open mindedness, positive attitude.

It s expected to exemplify respect for others, ardent listening, passion in learning, love for the subject, with open mind and affirmative attitude.

Know the schools’ procedures regarding such things as code of conduct.

A code conduct must be followed in order to manage the class well ethically.

Make your lessons relevant and interesting to your students.

Catch the attention of the learner by giving relevant and interesting lessons.

Use examples that intereststudents.

Give instances or examples to capture pupils’ attention.

Teach positively and show your enthusiasm. .

Educate your pupils in a positive way.

By means of these, the successful classroom management can be achieved.
