After using technology in the classroom, various effects of it on the students and teachers were revealed.
Primarily, it brought a change in student and teacher roles. The students became an interactive learner while the teacher became a brilliant facilitator. The teachers and students can generate, obtain, manipulate, or display information based on their respective roles and interests.
Technologyis a tool to support students in performing authentic tasks, the students can define their goals, can make design decisions, and can evaluate their progress.
The role of a teacher changed, too. The teacher is no longer the center of attention as the dispenser of information instead he/she plays the role of a facilitator, setting goals and giving guidelines and resources, going from student to student or group to group, bestowing suggestions and support for student undertaking
In addition, technology increased motivation and self-esteem in both the teacher and students. The teacher developed much confidence in the execution of the lesson while the students are motivated in their pursuit of continuous learning.
Moreover, the teachers and students are adept with technical skills. The teacher used his/her computer education in his/her profession while the students learned literacy in technology.
Furthermore, more complex tasks were accomplished. Before it takes time before an undertaking will be accomplished but when technology took place, even more complex tasks were attained.
Collaboration with peers was realized because of the aid of technology. Students can easily share what they know through the utilization of computer.
Since technology is far reaching, the increased use of outside resources was made possible. Through internet in the classroom, to reach the whole world is easy.
These are the significant effects of technology to the teacher, students and to the entire classroom as well.
