This is one instance some people consider intelligence where one is being able to use the English language in communication.  English subject has been part of our educational curriculum to make Filipinos be globally competent and integrated.  If we shall examine our communication skills in English after 10 years and more of study and use of the language how can we be assured that we are ready and equipped.  Does it necessarily mean that knowing English one can be called intelligent?

I know that the use of the language is for communication.  It is a plus factor if one is eloquent and highfaluting in the sense it adds color and dynamics in expression.  However the content is the substance of communication.  It is the significance of the issues formulated in the mind, alertness, correct and sound reasoning which contribute to keen thinking.  For some aspects a person who can speak English especially a Filipino is impressive but still there are other factors to consider to gauge intelligence.
