Cataning Elementary School is one of the largest and most distinguished public elementary schools in Balanga City. The school formally founded in 1957 but had known as early as 1940’s when primary levels were established after world war II. Though the school on that time had only primary levels, education here played an important role in the learning process. During that time, the improvement of the school continued to grow wherein dedicated teachers had introduced to the wonderful world of learning experiences.
Moreover, Cataning Elementary School had equipped pupils a strong foundation that was most essential in children’s journey to a better future. It is the school that formed part to what they are now.
After 64 years, Cataning staffs are now facing new challenges wherein they need to provide credible learning outcomes to get the trust and commendable impression from the public. The kind of approach that they need to utilize is a challenging one because transfer of knowledge will not be happened inside the classroom and this will be delivered effectively during distance education. As they planned, this is not just a creation of learning development program but a variety of strategies and close partnership with the community particularly the parents should be given prior effort for the continuity and successful transfer of knowledge to all learners. It is a kind of education wherein teachers, parents and learners are needed to reflect from time to time and adjust with each other so that learning will not be compromised. Despite of this condition, all educators of the said school are still on focused to deliver proper knowledge and good communication to enhance the learning ability of learners. More important, it is also a time to set up new goals and targets for children’s welfare, not only in the pursuit of personal and professional ambitions, but above all in the service of our school and community.
Fortunately, great opportunities that have been experiencing by the educators and learners during distance learning can be compared to an open door wherein the school and community support systems and initiatives are obviously visible. The availability of quality learning materials is properly used by the students. Furthermore, the learning continuity plan, guidelines, and policies are successfully implemented as they are aiming for one goal…and that is to ensure that all students will receive proper education during distance learning.
