Office management had been and became a thriving change in this modern world of administrative control. As Aditya Bharadwaj explained in his paper “The changing role of Management in the 21st century,”     “It is no surprise that Management in the 21st century has changed drastically compared to the management practices by the Industrial revolution of the 20th century whilst administrators don’t specifically follow the norms line of approach they still manages basic functions like Planning (determining and monitoring the project and human resource schedules over specific period of time as per the project’s requirements). Organizing (making use of resources to achieve goals and delegate responsibility within the organization by taking structured approach towards departmentalization like product specific, geographic, and customer segments. Staffing (eyeing for talents, hiring and on boarding new workers). Directing (deciding thing to be done in certain approach or situation). Monitoring (examining the progress alongside the plans). Motivating (a very vital task to understand employee morals and interest to uplift their best foot forward and leverage their productivity). Communicating (ultimately important in 21st century’s hyper-connected world, where information can be lost and forgotten). Creating (conducting brainstorming sessions with co-workers and increase the thought output and ability to produce original ideas through the use of imagination).

Apart from the functional processes above, there are several other expectations of a manager both internally (while dealing with teams) and externally (when dealing with outside criticism from board or customers), as listed below:

Ability to manage differences

Ability to manage change

Being a strategic/visionary manager

.

Ability to motivate

Decisive

Having a global Perspective

Ethical and Spiritual Orientation

Knowledge of Computer Technology

Analytic and Problem solving skills

Resiliency

Ability to facilitate/manage teams

Hence in the foregoing, we can be able to achieve 21st century management skills through proper conveyance of communications and skills within the group of talented managers and subordinates by applying those learnt functional processes and other expectations of office managements.
