1. In terms of age, most of the respondents are fifteen (15) to seventeen (17) years old with the frequency of two hundred (289) and a percentage of 81%. This was followed by the participants ages eighteen (18) to twenty (20) with a frequency of sixty (60) and a percentage of 17%. Ages ranging from twenty-one (21) to twenty-three (23) and ages twenty-four (24) to twenty-six (26) with the frequency of eight (8) and two (2) with the percentage of 8% and 2% respectively are with the least number of the respondents. It shows that most of the first year college students are ages fifteen to seventeen
2. In terms of gender, most of the respondents are male with a frequency of two hundred twenty-one (221) and with a percentage of 62% while the female are with one hundred thirty-eight (138) with a percentage of 38%. This means that most of the respondents are male which is comprises mostly by engineering students.
3. In terms of ordinal position, most of the respondents are the youngest sibling in the family. They have frequency of one hundred nineteen (119) with a percentage of 33%. It was followed by the eldest child with a frequency of one hundred fourteen (114) with a percentage of 32%. The Middle child is with a frequency of one hundred twelve (112) with a percentage of 31%. The least frequency among the respondents are the only child which is fourteen (14) and with a percentage of 4%. This shows that most of the first year college students from engineering and accountancy students are youngest sibling in the family.
4. In terms of close relationship with their parents, most of the respondents are close both with their mother and father. It has a frequency of one hundred sixty-five (165) and with a percentage of 46%. It was followed by the respondents close with their mother with a frequency of one hundred forty-three (143) and a percentage of 43%. The least frequency are those who are close with their father with a frequency of fifty-one and a percentage of 51%.

The level of the parental attachment, emotional adjustment and relational competence of the respondents with an average of 3.95, 3.74 and 3.71 which is verbally interpreted as highly attached, highly adjusted and high level of relational competence respectively. It shows that most of the first year college students of accountancy and engineering students of PSBA and University of the East have a good attachment with their parents, handles well their emotion and is good at initiating and keeping their relationship.
6. The chi-square result found out that the profile variables 13.93, 10.47, 9.99, 27.05 namely age, gender, ordinal position and close relationship with parents have a significant relationship to the level of emotional adjustment and relational competence while age was found out to have no relationship. In terms of parental attachment only the ordinal position was found to have no relationship while the age, gender and close relationship with their parents affects parental attachment.
7. The obtained r-value between the relationship of parental attachment and relational competence is 0.07 which denotes that there is an indifferent or negligible relationship between the parental attachment and relational competence, which means the level of parental attachment, does not affect the level of relational competence of the respondents.
8. The obtained r-value between the relationship of emotional adjustment and relational competence is 0.21 denotes that there is a low correlation present or but slight relationship between the emotional adjustment and relational competence, which means the level of emotional adjustment does not affect the level of relational competence of the respondents.
9. The relationship among the independent variables such as the parental attachment and emotional adjustment to the dependent variable as the relational competence. Since the value of 0.045 is less than the 0.80 alpha value, therefore the null hypothesis is accepted which means the parental attachment and emotional adjustment does not have impact to relational competence of an individual. It also tells that an individual could initiate and maintain a good relationship with peers and in romantic relationship regardless of the kind of attachment he or she have with the parents and how he or she handles his or her emotions.
