Do you ever imagine what school is like if rules are not made?  What if the principles or regulation governing conduct which will keep the right order of things are not set? Well I do. Although school rules are properly discussed and strictly implemented, we are well-aware that incidents of violation of school rules are not gone.  Today’s generation of pupils keeps pushing toward the attitude of easy disobedience of the rules implemented before them. Is it because their curiosity is too tempting to resist and they’re not afraid of the consequences or simply they seek for attention which they do not receive much at home?

In the school, we frequently hear complaints about how things run everyday. Such statements are against the rules and the authority who enforces it. We will not miss a day without seeing or even hearing news about a pupil who committed a sin for breaking a rule. Some are caught climbing over the fence or writing on walls. Others try to sneak out and throw a candy wrapper or a crumpled paper anywhere when nobody is around or no one is looking at them. There are some instances that pupils submit themselves to violence like bullying or even speaking profane words.

These are some cases that show pupils as regular school rule breakers. They defy rules without fear of the consequences or punishments that await them. These are not good signs of a healthy attitude of a pupil. They began to trespass the boundaries placed before them. We should stop this before it is too late. Always remember that big things come from small ones. If pupils will be used of these wrong doings at a very young age, they will more likely find it hard to abide by the laws when they get older.

Parents and teachers should work together to help the pupils become more responsible and obedient. Let us make them understand that rules are not made like a cage to detain them and deprive their freedom but they are just boundaries which serve as a rudder to stay on the right track.
