The Department of Education as well as the government strictly implemented the Anti-child violence rules and laws inside the school promises. It is true that the safety and well beings of the students were the top most priority of the system, but how about the safety and well being of us Teacher?
Recently crimes and violence are on the hike in which the teachers where the victims. Some studies show that for every one thousand teachers twenty eight were victims of violence, although if you look at the figures were not that high it is still very disturbing. Why? Because they are victims of their own students in where they protect and educate.
Teachers are still human, there were times that they reach the peak of their temper just like mothers to their children and give punishment to teach them a his/her son/daughter.
Parents rely on teachers to protect and guide their children and be their second parent when they are in school, to secure their safety. But how can that possibly b, when the teachers themselves fear for their own safety.
Often cases of violence in which teachers are the victims are not filed or just being dismissed due to the after effect of such issue to the school and to the system. “Pride” but that is the main reason why the topic have been in the shadows for years. Being a teacher, one should set a good example. In order for us teachers to be heard, we need to speak out, to be able to focus on the issue, some needs to stand and be heard. It is time for us teachers lay down our cards. It is the time for the system to see. That the educational system depends on the “teachers” they hold upon their hands the key to the country’s future. We teachers are not asking for too much, be fair is enough!
