Filipinos are competitive and versatile. That’s what we are well-known for. When it comes to International industry we may not notice it, the Filipinos are quite in demand but there are times when education hinders that opportunities from us. Some are lacking in skills, and some are lacking in degree.

Right now, our Education system is undergoing a major overhaul. The government is implementing the K-12 program. K-12 adds two more years to our ten-year curriculum, which makes it a twelve-year Education program. This change to Domestic Education policy has its long term effects. The goal of the curriculum is to provide the Filipino students enough time the skills they have chosen so that they’ll be ready for the tertiary level, or they will be ready to work even if they are just on the Undergraduate level.

Senior High School is a two-year Specialized Upper Secondary Education aimed at preparing the students for higher education, Entrepreneurship or working the workforce right after high school. Students may choose a specialization on their interests, abilities and the school capacity. That decision alone will define the subjects that they will take in the Senior High.

Our Education system still has a lot of years to go, years to improve and years to master. But one thing is for sure: Our Education system is heading up.
