It is easy to say to a person to forget what had happened in the past   and  forgive those who hurt you to be peaceful, to put everything in  order.  But if we are going to place ourselves in that situation we would find it very difficult.  It is hard to do it because it demands selflessness.  It strips us of defense  we’ve built to protect our egos.  It destroys platforms we have erected to make us look better or feel superior to others.

Most of the time we are being eaten by our pride.  If somebody hurts us we commonly say  “Hindi namanakoangnaunabakitakohihingi ng tawad, manigassiya”  Although we heard advises from our  friends that mistakes  may  happen that nobody is perfect.  Every human being may commit that.   It is up to us on how we handle it.

If we would make a deep breath for a seconds and make a little of  meditation we will realize that committing  mistakes are part of our lives so why would you not lend your forgiveness.  What if you will be the one to ask for forgiveness?  Do you think it will be easy for you to accept it ,  to be put down?

What we really need and have to do is forgiveness. It is a kaleidoscope for broken relationship.  It takes hurt, anger, fear, misunderstanding, shame, embarrassment, pride and guilt and gives us a new perspective on them.  It makes something beautiful out of the ugly pieces of our lives.  It creates a new positive-energy and experience the transforming power of God’s creative love.  It is an emotional ordinance of humility that prepares to receive Christ.

It’s pretty clear, isn’t it?  Forgiveness isn’t an option.  It is a command.
