The equality issue of gender has not yet been fully accepted by the predominantly Christian society. Religion has led to understanding a little of what is known as the LGBT Community, same-sex relationships and marriages, and other gender issues. On the positive side, as Ban Ki-Moon said “gay right is a human right.” It reflects that the LGBTs are the same as men and a woman – for gay is a human. Such a notion discouraged religious degradation of gays and lesbians as uncreated beings to the point of, as id, non-existence. But with the pronouncement and creation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the LGBT Community celebrates.
On the other hand, major religious groups condemned this seeming exaggeration of human rights – for its rise, significant and highly-debatable problems rise for instance, the Catholic Church condemns gay priests for cases of sexual abuse, the Islamic law did not allow homosexuals to exercise their promiscuities, and the Protestant Church does not allow seminarians whose family background includes homosexual and those who have undergone perversion in the past. On the darker side, Encarta said that the successful vilification of homosexuals as immoral, unnatural, and dangerous animated and sanctioned the religious rights of an individual, shocking the unprepared gay rights movements.
There are so many obvious changes in society. But schools must be firm to contribute the presence of mind in the debate on these issues. In some US schools, gay culture has been integrated and its powerful grasp over equality has tendered a great deal to the future of education of the next generation.
Today, the law rendered an impact on the flourishing gay culture. Some religious biases are turned off and society feminizes fashion, media, and other aspects of society. However, cases of verbal and psychological abuse provide a space for gender inequality. Thus, gender equality is ancient – the fundamentalists against homosexuals – established as a legal and cultural battle on moral and religious grounds. There, as a result of acceptance, the multi-colored flag has been raised which not symbolizes a covenant to all humanity as accorded in various sacred texts; but a symbol of human unity and solidarity.
Understanding society happens when you understand the people’s culture, thus, by determining the factors that affect gender inequality, the society stands positively for it – not just because it is what the law says, but because the LGBT community is part of our society. Education must progress to accommodate the trends in these, rather than a victorious movement in the GAD issue.
