Others say that leaders are born, others say that leaders are made.  But the most important concept is that whether leaders are made or born, leaders must govern well.

 

In schools, a strong leader with good governance is truly necessary because through the leader everything will be well directed and well-facilitated.

 

Basically, a leader must be highly qualified to lead a particular school. He/she must be competent enough to face the challenges of the huge or enormous responsibility ahead of him or her,

 

Honesty and performance should be the keys to governance and management of schools.  These two important factors will be the leading guidance of the educational managers in achieving the vision, mission and objectives of the institution.

 

Furthermore, a leader must work for the improvement of all the components of the school like various facilities, equipment, buildings and other significant capital outlay.

 

Also, the people under his/her management must be taken care of.  They comprise the forces who will implement all the goals of the school.

 

Of course, the pupils/students betterment is also very important.  Since they are the center of the teaching-learning process, the school managers will find ways to provide them the best education.

 

Apparently, it is expected that our leader must be a leader of honesty, competence and unselfishness.

 

Living by example and doing a great performance are the expectations we desire to see from our educational leaders. 

 

Truly, an important position commands a great responsibility.  Good governance is what we need in order to have a picture of a better school or institution.
