Some enjoy their work more than others. Some would say that they enjoy the job per se but not their work place. With this, they could mean the people at the office, the boss, the salary, or other work-related factors.

Some workplace is desirable and others are not. However, it is possible to have a work place with a harmonious relationship among workers. The first step is all about communication. Encouraging open communication among workers and with the boss can do miracles. Encourage the staff to express their ideas, point of view, and suggestions during meetings. Make them feel their suggestions are valuable. Make sure that you are setting goals clear to them and are realistic. Know their thoughts and listen to them.

Allow workers to have a good work/life balance. Accept that the workers have lives outside the office. They have families and friends whom they should give time to. Do not overstress them or over work them to the point that they have no energy left for their loved ones. Have compassion and be understanding of their situations. Remember, happy staff means more productive work.

Provide sufficient training and development opportunities. Encourage them to grow with the company. Make them feel that it is important for you to see them grow in their careers. Be interested in their dreams and help them realize their career and personal goals.

Have at least a monthly gathering where all employees just relax or enjoy one another’s company. Boding moments like these can help build a strong working relationship and enhance harmony among the workers. Let it be just a time for fun, unwinding, and allowing one another to simply have a good time together while remaining respectful towards each employee.

While there can be unavoidable circumstances where workers may have misunderstanding due to individual differences, having an open mind and accepting attitude can spell all the difference.
