If there are students who are unhappy in having homeworks, surprisingly there are also students who are happy having homeworks.

            According to Corpuz and Salandanan (2007), homework is one way of providing students the opportunity to refine and extend their knowledge on a previous topic. This can also be a way to obtain advance information on a newly assigned topic for research.

            Research has proven that for every 30 minutes of additional homework, a student per nighthis/her overall grade point average (GPA) increases about half a point.

            Homeworks make a student to be studious. He will have the chance to cultivate good study habits. It likewise communicates to the child that learning takes work at home as well as in school thus strengthening the home and school connection and the parent- teacher partnership for the education of the child.

            Giving homeworks is also one way to assess the learning needs of students with multiple intelligences and varied learning styles by way of creative subject requirements and authentic assessment.

            Homeworks cannot be done within the regular class time, so they all brought home. Creativity of students in making homeworks but must be related to the previously discussed topic like: Poetry – Writing, Song- Writing, Drawing or Painting, Video and Script Writing and also Poster-Making.

            When giving homeworks, the teacher must give the purpose. After the submission of a particular homework, and after checking it, the teacher must comment on it, evaluated and returned to the owners.

            Lastly, the teacher must give the date when the homework should be submitted, and also give some tips for homework – making in terms of place to make a homework, time needed, explain the benefits of submitting homeworks. Parents can be involved in helping their children, however, their involvement should be kept on minimum, and their role should only be facilitative.
