The question is: How are teachers really prepared for the noble task of molding the minds of our students?
Indeed, there are many things to consider and teachers are aware of these. Most of them are considered problems-like big classes, lack of classrooms, dearth of instructional material, laboratory facilities and lack of teachers.
But let me not consider them as problems but challenges. All teachers, and for that matter even principals, are challenged to find ways and means to solve these problems.
But everything considered, the teacher’s primary role is still to teach.
What and How do you plan to teach? It is true that teachers are given prototype lesson plans by the Department of Education.
Lesson plans are prepared in seminars-workshops or in school based trainings. But there are very salient points for teachers to ponder if they really aim to teach effectively and produce excellent student academic performance. Careful planning is the key to the preparation of a lesson.
In doing so, teachers will know what to teach and how to teach.
