The K to 12 Program was approved in order to better serve the educational clientele in the Philippines.  It is highly anticipated that the teachers under this program should be able to abide with the principles and ideals of the new curriculum in order to yield better outputs or even the best for the K to 12 learners of the new generation.

In order to be fully abreast with the K to 12 Program and be a certified K to 12 teacher, one should be able to:

1. Attend the prescribed training. As the Department of Education requires, a teacher must first attend days in seminar on K to 12 Program.  In this way, the teacher will be made informed and learned on the contents of the curriculum.
2. Follow the curriculum instructions and content religiously.  After knowing the curriculum, the teacher must be able to employ the curriculum in teaching, in the daily work.  By means of this, he/she will be able to transmit to the learners the knowledge or ideas that they need to know.  At the same time, you are transferring the standards they owe to imbibe.

1. Be updated with the latest trends in teaching pedagogics. K to 12 has the most updated and creative methods in teaching.  Having the worldwide standards, the real K to 12 teachers should facilitate learning with the means that will invite the pupils’ interests and stimulate their senses to learn.

1. Make use of the latest teaching devices or tools.  There are new teaching devices which are necessary in teaching under K to 12 Program.  The presence of concrete and real inanimate objects are being utilized in order to live with the principles of the curriculum.

1. Employ the systematic benefits of modern technology.  The computer makes an immediate and easy teaching which leads to accessibility to learning.  The teacher executes best the daily teaching demonstration with the use of computer and other multimedia tools.

1. Be highly competitive.  As a K to 12 teacher, you need to be extremely competitive. You are expected to grow professionally and level up your abilities and potentialities.  Furthermore, you need to make use of your talents and skills as a teacher. Heighten yourself.

1. Be innovative .Be as innovative as possible for the K to 12 Program encourages the teacher to be more advanced in teaching for the pupils to achieve better and advanced learning.

1. Be an instructional classroom leader.  As a teacher, you must give proper directions and instructions to your learners.  Be strategic in giving instructions to the pupils for them to be taught and well-guided.

Teachers under K to 12 Program must live with the expectations of the stakeholders and of the society as well.
