Dealing with all types and kinds of students in 7m by 6m classroom daily is not easy as 1,2 and 3. The class adviser plays the most important roles among the teachers and faculty staff in a school. The adviser is looked by his/her class sometimes more than they do to their parents. The students are with the class adviser more than the time they spend with their parents. And yes, it always happens that the class adviser knows the students more than the parents. So the class adviser should be good, should be kind, should be understanding and flexible but most importantly should be effective. There are students who are good academically but not socially. And students who has high EQ but low IQ. Different types of approach of the class adviser. Reprimanding one student for bullying his classmates and comforting the student who got bullied needs skill of the class adviser. Each of the students’ needs different approach. Some students are problematic because of the broken family. Other students are vulnerable and need much care.

An effective adviser should be equipped with all the knowledge in handling all types of students, its limitations and capabilities. The effective adviser makes the class happy and comfortable. He/she should know how to listen and follow his/her. Rules are formed by the effective adviser and is well understood and executed by everyone in the class. The effective adviser can touch the hearts and soul of the students. Discipline, trust, loyalty and integrity can be seen in his/her students. His/her encouragement is much appreciated by his/her students. He/she is the role model of his whole class and he/she has the greatest impact in the student’s well being. The students’ formation greatly depends on the adviser, may it be in the academic, physical and spiritual growth of each of his/her class.His/her effectiveness plays the vital role to the excellence of each of the students, making his/her students a better citizen.
