Throughout the performance of the job, the teacher is expected to be a good speaker.  But every teacher must be reminded that more than being a good speaker, one must be an effective speaker.  How to be one is the object of this discourse.

Rehearsal is an effective way of ensuring the effectiveness of the speaker.  If need be, the speaker should speak before himself in front of the mirror.  Repeat the piece to be presented 10000 times.  Always be reminded to observe proper pauses and syllabications.  It is always beneficial to emphasize where to pause to make the message clearer.

Smile, it is free anyway.  Do not take the task very seriously.  Take time to smile.  It will make you more relax and ease out the pressure of the task.

Establish audience rapport.  Connect with the audience.  Find ways to inject humor to keep the attention of the audience and make them responsive to the topic being discussed.

If you can, learn more languages.  Knowledge of additional language amuses the audience.  You become more authoritative of the topic if there are other languages used.  Being multi-lingual is of great advantage.

Every teacher wants to be effective in the delivery of the lesson and in whatever topic assigned for a more matured audience.  Take advantage of these tips and it will surely transform a teacher from being just good, but to an effective speaker.
