Being a real model is not so easy to achieve most especially in the field of education that anticipates a lot from the educators.  But there are ways to attain such character in the academic institution or in school.

Here are the ways to be an icon in the field of education:

1. Project a good personality.  The totality of your character will be reflected in your personality.  Be a teacher that exudes a positive and modest charisma. Be pleasing in dealing with others, have an adorable attitude and behavior and display a dignified appearance as that of a certified teacher.
2. Be a natural leader.  A teacher is technically a leader in his/her own right.  The teacher is the one who leads with compassion and humane approach.  He/she should be an altruistic leader who does everything not for personal sake but for the benefit of the learners.
3. Truly knowledgeable.  A teacher is someone who is miles ahead of others in terms of knowledge.  Through his/her own perseverance and initiative, he/she continuously acquires and accumulatesinformation or data for further awareness and understanding to be able to share to others.
4. Committed to lifelong learning.  An exemplary teacher must keep abreast with the latest developments.  He/she must be able to adapt with changeshappening around.  In addition, he/she must continue to study and discover the newest trends to be utilized in the classroom.
5. Be organized. A model teacher has an organization of the things to do. The teacher must be systematic in his/her teaching activities as well as with the other related undertakings to be able to achieve order and direction.
6. Always be flexible.An exemplary teacher must be able to cope up with the situations that may arise.  He/she employs proper measures in order to meet the demands of time and strong enough to face the challenges of the profession.
7. Be patient.  Whether in teaching per se and in achieving a goal in the profession, a model teacher should have a long patience on the difficulties and trials being encountered.
8. Be a good listener. A good teacher listens well to the learners.  A teacher must be able hear the sentiments of every pupil or student.  In this way, he/she will be able to meet the essentials needs of the learners.
9. Be mature.  A teacher must have an open mind and heart in dealing with all the stakeholders in the school community. Be able to act with good temper and respect to everyone whether young or old.
10. Innovative. Since we are in the new generation, an exemplary teacher must be creative and resourceful enough to enhance his/her teaching prowess.

 

It’s about time to meet the greatest challenges in the teaching world.  We only live once as a teacher and make the teaching life to the fullest.Be able to emanate and imbibe the right ways to be an exemplary teacher.
