1. Conduct Student Assessment – it is important to know the background of the students , the kind of family where he/she belongs. You can do it by using a survey instrument with some questions you want to know regarding the students and parents. You can also do a home visitation to meet the parents and ask them of some important questions.
2. Be aware of students uniqueness—Each students has its own traits and qualities. Do not considered those with negative attitudes as teachers enemy, but rather special students who needs extra loving care. Try your best to win him in your side by talking to him nicely and explain his mistakes.
3. Identify the problems you encounter with your students— With that, think of the best solution that will be effective to each problem and apply it. If did not work out try another solution. If every solution you have tested still did not solve the problem, probably you can call the parents to discuss with them the problems or endorsed the student to the school guidance counsellor.
4. Always exercise positive approach to problems – Instead of throwing bad words just keep calm, and talk calmly and nicely. Remember that if you are in a height of anger it’s difficult to control our temper that will result to uttering bad words to your students. Saying bad words is a form of child abuse that we can commit against the student.
5. Organized a good seat plan—Assigned students with undesirable behaviour to sit beside responsible students so that he can’t be influence by others with the same attitude and behaviour but rather be motivated with desirable deeds.
6. Reserve extra time for counselling— After classes talk to problem students to discuss with them why they need to show discipline and be obedient to their teachers, maybe some of them has serious family problems needing extra attention. You will have a chance to find out the reason why they developed such negative attitudes and because of that encounter, the more you will love and understand the students.
7. Endorse the problem with the guidance counsellor— The last steps that you will do is to endorse the problem with the guidance counsellor. After you have done your best in trying to motivate students to change his attitude, but still doing the same thing, it is the duty of the guidance counsellor to solve the problem.
