In every engagement of teachers in the classroom, one can encounter unfriendly spirits that can give the teacher a kilo of headaches. Facing the real situation, which these unfriendly spirits will stay with you for the whole school year and coming school calendar days, one should be armed with truckload of right ammunition in handling the situations.

Knowing and understanding the learner’s personal background (family, social status and intellectual capacities), we can somehow counter-attack these unfriendly spirits coupled with the positive qualities of the teachers listed below;

  1. Appreciation                f. Receptiveness
  2. Enthusiasm                   g. Patience
  3. Fairness                        h. Understanding
  4. Impartiality                  j. Support

One of the best means of knowing and understanding our pupil’s behaviour or misbehaviour is through parents’ consultation and home visitations. Teacher should manifest love and concern to them. Loving and doing well to them will give a great reward. Give gift of love and this will imprint in their minds that they would do to others as you would do to others as you would have them do.

Start the teaching-learning process only when the pupils are mentally and emotionally ready. It must be considered that the readiness, cheerfulness, enthusiasm and mastery of the lesson radiates to the pupils. If everyone is ready with concentration on what is to be done and how it could be done, the teaching-learning has well-meaning results.
