English is the universal language and is one of the most popular and most spoken in the technology and business world. We need to know and learn the English language in order to communicate effectively in and out of the country. It is very vital in our life and it is a need today to learn and to speak the English language competently and effectively. People take pride in speaking English. We can’t deny that we need to speak English in our life today, especially now that we are in an advanced technological and modern period. If one can’t speak the language it would be very much difficult to communicate to others.
Communication is a tool for everyday life and English is the most widely spoken language. If you know how to speak it, it would be invaluable tool for communication. Here are some tips in honing your spoken English and overcome your hesitation.
- Watch English movies with subtitles. When you hear new words remember it and try to speak it out often.
- Read any English article, quotation, or sayings. It adds confidence in speaking even a little.
- Learn at least one new word every day. Practice speaking English language at home or in the office.
- Remember some unfamiliar words when you hear them in most of the conversations.
- Relate with family, friends and relatives using English language.
- Try to note or write words that are unfamiliar to you then figure out the meaning in the dictionary for comprehension. It’s easy to speak the language if you understand it.
- Do not be afraid to make mistakes when you start talking. Committing mistakes is very common, there’s learning in making mistakes after all.
- Read books and magazines. Reading is still the first step in developing speaking skill.
- Practice the language whenever and wherever possible.
- Be confident in speaking. Confidence will boost your ability.
- Be patient. Learning to speak the English language is not an overtime process.
English, being the language that is acceptable throughout the world, is a language that is worth mastering. It may be difficult and challenging at first but with all the efforts and time that will be spent learning it and all the modern technologies which are accessible today, improving your spoken English is no longer a problem.
