Teaching- learning process  to be more effective  must be personalized in the sense that the teacher devotes time and effort to prepare all the needed materials. The teaching materials alone could not make the process effective as is expected to be. Teaching –learning process  must be a  fun and enjoyable to both  teacher and  learners,.You cannot expect learners  to have fun  if you are not having fun with them! If you only read the instructions out of a textbook, it’s ineffective. Instead, make your lessons come alive by making it as interactive and engaging as possible You  must be creative and  resourceful enough to make success possible.. Let your passion for teaching shine through each and everyday. Enjoy every teaching moment to the fullest, although it is  demanding and exhausting at times.

Here are some suggestions  to make teaching – learning process fun and enjoyable:

  • Get to know your  pupils  and their interests so that you can find ways to connect  with them.
  •  Bring positive energy into the classroom every single day. You have a beautiful smile so don’t forget to flash it as much as possible throughout the day.  Inspite of  your personal problems  that you ‘re facing  ,  once you enter the  classroom, you should leave all of them  behind before you step foot  in the door.
  •  Use real objects  if possible  to elicit pupils’  interest  and  connect with their experiences  to make learning easier. Let them  manipulate the objects especially  with primary grade pupils.
  • Introduce lessons  in  different and varied ways like games , puzzle and  use of pictures.
  • Give practice  exercises in different forms  like answering question in a basket while the music  is playing  , picking questions on tree and other   form of contest .
  • Use multi media learning  materials
  • Provide individual  and  group activities
  • Don’t forget to give  rewards and  praises  among your learners  to motivate them further
