Play and proiper nutrition are two most important things you need to focus on when you want to raise a happy and healthy child. There is no treasure in life to compare than your child is free from illnesses where they could actively mingle and play with other kids. Here are some tips to make sure your kids can actively play and eat as well :
Your child needs to eat right. There’s no place where your child can be introduced to good nutrition at an early stge except in your home, where your child’s eating habits and food choices are developed. How you show your actions and attitudes towards eating affects also your child’s perception and feelings about food .
Pass on a positive food attitude to your child as he grows so as to develop in him the proper food values by following these simple steps;
- Serve him a variety of foods in the right amount everyday . Food variety is the key to healthy kids because no single food contains all the nutrients your child needs for his nutritional health.
- Make fruits , green and yellow vegetables a “must” in your daily family meal.
- Pack nutritious lunch boxes . A packed lunch supplies at least 1/3 of your child’s daily needs .
- Make snacks count . Serve nutritious snacks like fresh fruits instead of candies and softdrinks that dull the appetite.
- Avoid too spicy and highly seasoned food. These may destroy your child’s appetite fo more bland and highly nutritious food .
- Encourage regular sleeping hours so your child can wake up early and have enough time to sit down and eat an adequate breakfast without worry .
- Practice good eating habits for your child to imitate. Always make mealtime a pleasant get –together for the whole family.
- Involve your child in the selection of foods and allow him to help you in the food preparation at an early age .
- Give your child opportunities to learn about food and nutrition and explain how these are related to his healty
- Your child needs to play. Kids have the natural urge to play , which is an essential part of growing up . It helps your child to learn and understand the world . Research has shown that children who play are the happier children. Make play time more enjoyable for your child by following these guidelines:
- Be a supportive adult . Stimulate him by offering guidance , time , space, and company.
- Follow your child’s interest and introduce new types of play in order to help him grow accordiding to the various development stages.
- Create a safe environment so your child can develop his skills and creativity to the fullest.
- Parents or other caregivers are the first people a child will relate to. Spend time with your child to create a close relationship.
- Provide the stimulation needed for his development . Why not turn his bedroom into a space station or your backyard into a jungle? Thiis makes for more creative play.
- Get to know your child better through play. It often forms an alternative to purely verbal communication.
Your small efforts can make a big difference in his future .
