Stories can conquer fear…
…they make the heart bigger…
It was my mom’s dream, it wasn’t mine. This may sound cliché for most of our mothers are dreaming of becoming educators.
I was then in my latter years in high school and still she was pushing me to take teaching as my career path. It was not easy for most of my peers wanted to take nursing, it was the “it” career then. I admit it was peer pressure… and it was. Just to console my mom, I decided to put Education as one of my choices, it was not my first or even the second, it was my very last choice.
And destiny strikes… it was in May 2006 my brother and I were on our way to college for enrolment something happened and it did change everything. We met an accident and I was injured. The only money that we had was my enrolment fee for nursing and it was used for my medical expense. The only way for me to go to college was to enroll for one of the cheapest programs then, my third choice, education. My mom was happy however to my surprise I was not feeling even a bit of bitterness. I had to admit that I was beginning to like it. The principles and all just enclosed me.
I am now a full pledged teacher molding naïve minds and inspiring the youth to be ideal catalyst of the society.
It was my mom’s dream and now it’s indeed MINE!
