As a young high school graduate, I had other plans. I wanted to become an engineer and work abroad, but because of poverty, my parents could not afford to let me take up engineering course. I was dismayed. So my wish to become engineer was not granted and my second option is to become a nurse. Again I was discouraged due to financial constraints. But maybe it was luck and fate that brought me to where I am and I will be forever now. I am one of the respectful teachers of S.E.S. – Sabatan Elementary School I am totally happy and contended being a teacher.
A lot of young people do not go into the teaching profession because there is no gold in it. Yes that is indeed true, but if your needs are simple and you are happy with what you do, then that is enough “wealth”. What you get in teaching is honor and dignity of life.
My teacher, Mrs. Carolina P. Amit from Bataan School of Fisheries, shaped my life so that I would be able to become a teacher someday. She taught me to value service as a teacher and to deliver it to help students anticipate each day as an exciting learning opportunity.
It is really touching story of a teacher who may not have had the paper investment and the bank notes but had shaped the lives of the youth, many of whom may have become successful.
See what a good teacher can do!
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY AND PRAISES..
