“There are many professions which man has adopted according to his knowledge andability. A person can adopt any profession or business. It depends upon his aptitudesand mental capability. All professions are equally important for human development. Butteaching is the profession which has led people on the highway of progress andprosperity. No development would have been possible if there had been no teacher. Allthe sciences, all the arts and crafts and all the civilizations and cultures are due to theteaching. In fact, teaching is the noble profession let me call the teaching as propheticprofession, because invariably all prophets are teachers. They taught and preached themessage of God.”The above statement is one among my driving forces, my inspiration, and mypride in being an educator. You may have come across those lines before, and may findthem trite, but hey! Its core remains true until today.Teachers have the direct way, immense opportunities, and invaluable roles inmaking a difference in people’s lives. Ever since I’ve been blessed with a chance to bea part of the DepEd family, it has always been my earnest desire to make a difference.Looking at the unimaginable number of people I’ll be encountering as I journey throughmy years of teaching, I am in awe! I get so thrilled by the notion of countless moments Icould share my passion with all of them!Every day, I would remind myself that if there’s one thing, I’d like my students toremember about me, it is not how brilliant I am as an educator, for everyone can explainintricate concepts, demonstrate complex skills, and the like, but not everyone caninspire. So, it is how I strive to become God’s extension of love and kindness that I wantthem to never forget about me, instead. I want my students to feel like they are heard, they are seen, they are valued, and they are loved. I want to set footprints on theaspects of their lives which are quite difficult to touch, most especially now thateveryone is lonely more than ever and is easily falling into the trap of great despair anddepression.

After all, my profession wouldn’t be tagged as “the noblest” profession if it weren’tfor these reasons. It is my delight to see my students believing, truly believing, that theirdreams are within their reach. I vow to never let a student walk away refusing toacknowledge the fact that he’s capable of making his hopes come to reality. Everystudent matters. And for the same exact reasons, I take pride in being a teacher!
