A leader is very essential in any organization.  In an educational institution, a leader is the one who instructs and operates the school.  A school head is a leader of the school.  A teacher is the leader in the classroom.  Both individuals play a pivotal role in the school community.

What is ideal is beneficial. That is why leaders should be ideal in order to be a blessing to others. In order to achieve an ideal school leadership, one must consider a lot of things. The following will emanate the true essence of an ideal school leader and an ideal school leadership:

1. Lead by example. A person in authority must be the first one to set a good example to his/her people most especially to the young ones.  In leadership, good governance must be realized since if the leader is good in managing the school or a class, the subordinates will also follow.
2. Raise the flag of honesty.  A person who is honest is someone who does his/her job unselfishly.  He/she is transparent to all transactions and reports all the things that transpired. If you are an honest leader, you will be able to gain the trust and confidence of your people.
3. Be a person of hardwork. Industrious leaders do a lot of accomplishments. So, if a principal or a teacher is really a worker, then he will do those things that will be beneficial to all most especially to the learners.
4. Be compassionate.  A person who always has a heart to understand anyone regardless of gender, age or status in life could be ideal since he/she treats people with respect and sympathy.
5. Be generous in sharing ideas.  An ideal leader is someone who suggests his/her ideas for the development and progress of others. That is why he/she is ready to give what he/she has.
6. Be God-fearing.  Above all, a leader who always seeks the guidance of the Lord is truly an ideal leader for he/she is directed by the presence of God. All the decisions will be blessed and guided for the sake of the whole school community.

These are the qualities that will make the leader and school leadership ideal and they are necessary in any educational institution.
