Undeniably, a teacher plays a very essential role in the process of education.  Ideally, e/she possesses high level of character and potentialities that make him/her different from among the rest.

To become ideal, a teacher must possess the following characteristics:

1. He/she fully knows the contents of the subjects which he has to teach.

2. He/she is constantly reading and upgrading in the subject.

3. He/she has a good sense of humor/smiles.

4. He/she has the highest degree of integrity.

5. He/she susceptible to adaptation or modification.

6. He/she is flexible.

7. He/she is concise and clear in both oral and written expression in the classroom.

8. He/she is patient. Being patient is often expressed as being diligent or persevering.

9. He/she is self-confident.

10. He/she is open. This trait is related with willingness of the teacher to share happiness about his own life to illustrate a point or share how they feel about a given situation.

11. He/she is diversified with regard to his preparation.

12. He/she is an excellent role model.

13. He/she is capable of relating theory with practice.

14. He/she has good personal hygiene and is well groomed. He is always neat, clean, and wears type of clothing that is acceptable in the school building in which he teaches.
