Advancement in technology brought big changes in the lives of the people. Writing letters become texting or chatting, meeting up with friends were done through video calls and children playing in the streets became the children playing with their Ipads and tablets. In the minds of today’s generation, a world without high technology is unimaginable.

While technology serves as great purpose it also brings danger for those who do not know how to discipline or take responsibility in handling their gadgets. For instance, people tend to be lazier as they become occupied with their lives in social media. Many students lose their focus on studying because of computer addiction. There were even lesser times spent with families and friends because people think that there is always the internet if you want to connect with the people close to you.

The more developments in technology also means more people begin to depend on computers and other forms of technology for everyday existence. Because of this, when a machine or a gadget breaks, humans become disabled as if he cannot do anything until the problem is resolved. This kind of dependency on technology makes people lose their self-reliance.

Though it shows several disadvantages, there are still many benefits that we acquire from the modernization of our lives through high technology. It could be useful for people’s lives and it could be used to hurt people’s lives. The way technology should be used is as a tool and for helpful reasons, and should not be used for hours of laziness. Let technology be an aid to make people’s lives easier rather than a tool to take over the lives of the people.
