There are two (2) types of communications the Department issues. The print and the non-print.
The DepEd’s position on education-related matters and its policies on the implementation of its program and projects are disseminated to the public through the print and non-print media.
Information through the Print Media
- a. Service Manual contains the basic regulations, instructions, and information which guide the Central Office and the field personnel in carrying out the tasks of the Department.
 
b. Handbooks are issued to provide handy reference materials to the field on DepEd policies on certain educational issues and procedures in the implementation of its program and projects.
c. Publications are published on a regular basis are distributed to inform the field and other stake holders on various activities undertaken.
ISSUANCES
1. ORDERS– are policies, guidelines, or regulations which are generally permanent in nature and are in effect until rescinded.
2. MEMORANDUM- contain certain instructions and information which are temporarily in nature and are usually applicable only during the year of issuance.
3. BULLETINS– are primarily informative issuances. These include educational statistics, statistics, curricular materials and professional papers.
4. Unnumbered Memorandums-contain instruction or information which are limited in application and concern only a few regions or office.
5. Office Orders– contains policies/instructions or regulations which are general application in the Central Office.
6. Office Memorandum– – contain certain instructions and information which are office-specific.
7. ADVISORIES- are advices which are office-specific.
NON-PRINT MEDIA
Urgent messages are conveyed to the regions, divisions and schools through phone calls, fax, radio and electronic mail.
