Plants can grow anywhere and will bear flowers and fruits, just like man who develop himself to become knowledgeable and will thus mature anytime. It can be applied to students who are molded and become educated persons in their chosen courses and school environment. The extent of students’ learning depends on many factors that are associated with student’s total development. The exposure and experiences of students to various activities will determine to a great extent the qualityof his education and learning.

 

            Activities beyond lessons are an essential part of overall learning, for as children grow older, their needs as a person are vital part of their growth. But besides this, they not only make the school more pleasurable, but they also create an atmosphere that promotes school spirit and social interaction among students in a healthy atmosphere. However, if one digs deeper, it is evident that extra-curricular activities helps students even more so on an individual level. They become more responsible and organized, shows more self-discipline, feel better about themselves due to accomplishing goals outside the academic realm, and even in leadership skills.

 

            The school, teachers and students recognize the importance of extra-class activities as evidenced by the amount of time and attention given to them which brings the greater demand and that they function more effectively in affecting the lives of students. Because of the educational values of extra-curricular activities, many school administrators now seek to incorporate more extra-class activities which are most relevant with the educational programs and objectives. They believe that extra-curriculum activities are important means of furthering the education of the youth in certain areas alongside to regular school work.
