Discipline means a process of training and learning that fosters growth and development. Inside the classroom, part of maximizing the time for learning is to control the students. Without discipline, the teachers will find it hard manage classroom situation.

Discipline gives the students a feeling of security to know his boundaries limits and freedom. He needs to live according to certain standards in order to have a less feeling of guilt. Inner growth in the form of self-discipline and self-control by the individuals or what we call positive  concept  of discipline is believed to be much better than controlling students by external authority.

When a student does the right thing, it makes it possible for adults to praise him. In fact, discipline serves as  an ego-bolstering motivation to the student to accomplish what is required of him.

Discipline is different with punishment. When teachers discipline their students, it does not mean we are just giving him punishment. When we say discipline, we help the child to develop conscience- “ the internal voice that directs to do this or that.”

In school or even at home, there is a need for discipline to add the happiness and adjustment of the students. It is our role to give them an example of well-disciplined lives. For what the students will become depends on the way teachers guide them. We must help the students to understand why certain arrangements are required. For discipline among the students a vital role as long as they live.

However, teachers should remember that o discipline students, teachers must discipline themselves too.
