The use of outdated teaching methods in the present day needs to end. Methods that force kids to learn under the watchful eye of teachers, such as making sure pupils are sitting properly, listening to teachers, and providing predetermined responses, are not beneficial to the cognitive development of students. This type of teaching strategy is no longer helpful in satisfying the unique demands of pupils in solving school equations and problems, according to numerous studies done in the same field. Dewey believed that memorization or repetition promoted shallow thinking, which eventually led to a distaste of studying. Researchers have shown that learning occurs constantly among students, particularly when they interact with others. According to Dewey, socializing is the foundation for learning.

An inquiry process is a dominant replacement for the information-transmission strategy to education, according to Rajani (2022), a specialist in assessment and evaluation. During the inquiry process, students actively participate in learning by answering questions that assess their past knowledge and presenting situations or issues for them to methodically investigate to learn. Rather than merely providing acknowledged facts or laying out a predetermined course of study, this approach lets pupils think independently. In this procedure, the facilitator function of the teacher is involved. To apply their knowledge or explanations on a certain topic, students will identify and investigate problems and queries. The problem-based learning component of the inquiry-based method is essentially used.

Ten advantages have been identified by researchers through various investigations and studies about the use of an inquiry-based approach in the classroom.

The ten advantages are:

1. Enhance students’ gift and encourage their interest in certain activities, items, or concepts.

2. Respect kids’ choices and provide them space to express their perspectives.

3. Increase zeal and dedication.

4. Encourage pupils’ curiosity and instill a love of studying in them.

5. Instill discipline, endurance, tenacity, and critical thinking.

6. Create meaningful research and hone your question-making abilities.

7. Build understanding so that the pupils may think beyond the boundaries of the material and the concepts being taught.

8. accentuate the value of asking insightful questions.

9. Give pupils the freedom to develop and build their own learning style so they can accomplish their goals.

10. Describe the steps that need to be taken for future learning goals.

The inquiry-based approach is considered the most successful method of instruction for achieving the goals of the teaching and learning process, based on the advantages it offers and the testimonials of multiple researchers. The Department of Education is urging teachers to use this method when delivering their lessons because of this. The students will benefit from it when handling.
