What is SPED? Special Education is individually planned, systematically implemented and carefully evaluated instruction to help exceptional children achieve the greatest possible personal self- sufficiency and success in present and future environment. The term is also known as Special Ed or SPED, is a set of educational programs or services specially designed to meet the unique needs of learners with disabilities that cannot be sufficiently met using traditional educational programs or techniques.

Having SPED Center or classes in the community is a big help for families who have special child as it gives chance to those children to experience schooling like the normal one. Needs of these children are properly address because they belong to their group and handle by the expert in their field, the SPED Teacher. Indeed, teaching SPED class is a big challenge, charge to my experience. Big amount of love, extra care and understanding is needed to extend and perform the necessary teaching- learning the child need. SPED caters various disabilities like children with Autism, deaf, blind, those with mental retardation, children with learning disability even physically impaired and those with health impairment. This is because they cannot learn in a regular classroom setting because they need special strategies and approaches which cannot be done in a large group in a regular class. Hence, Special Education is an important part of every educational institution.
