At this point, though many have attuned themselves to the new DepEd Curriculum, others might still be mesmerized with what is K+12 program is all about.

There are still teachers who are having a hard time adjusting to the K+12 program for it haven’t really sink it yet to them.

But whoo! The term K+12 has now been familiar name and viral to all the students and teachers, for presently, its now the bible of the new curriculum of Deped.

Why the K+12 program? Aren’t we okay with the 10-year curriculum? Aren’t we satisfied with what we are achieving at present?

And how do we do that? Because we are very concerned of producing graduates that are considered half-baked or mediocre, meaning they can comply but are not really performing the quality tasks given to them.

In line with these problem that the present Aquino Administration thru the effort of the DepEd, has implemented the K=12 program since the start of the school year 2012.

K=12 program has the components of Kindergarten and 12 years of quality basic education.

Those who will go through the 12 years program will get an elementary diploma (6 years) and a high school diploma (4 years) plus senior high school ( 2 years), a full 12 years of basic education.

One of the important feature of the K+12 program, is that all students can enhance and intensify their abilities in academic and technical skills.

For it is the goal of the K+12 basic education program to create a functional basic education system that will produce, productive and responsible citizen equipped with the essential competencies for learning and employment, which can be a long term solution to poverty.

The need to produce a pool highly qualified and adequately trained teachers, to give every student the opportunity to receive quality education based on an enhanced and decongested curriculum that is of an international standard recognition.

That all these factors have been set by the past Administration and Deped, and improving our education begins and ends with great teachers and school heads that will bring the K+12 program to its highest level.
