Education plays important role to everyone. Our government are always finding ways on how to improved the Educational System in our country since we are the only country left 10 –year basic education curriculum.

 One of the area being enhance is the curriculum implementation.The Department of Education comes up with K to 12 Curriculum Program as a solution  for having a  quality education. K to 12 means 12 years of basic education. Six years of studying in elementary level ( Grades 1-6), four years in Junior High School ( Grades 7-10) and another two years of Senior High School (Grades 11-12). The implementation of the said program started  last SY 2012-2013 .

There are different reactions regarding this new curriculum. Many says that it will help  us in improving the quality of Education that we have in our country but of course others find it unnecessary to  be implemented.

There is always advantage and disadvantage for any possible changes that may happened. There’s no problem in having quality education that we are aspiring for ,but let us face the fact that it is not only the curriculum that we should focus , the learners itself must be considered. Learning is still impossible if a pupil has an empty stomach.

What we can do as of today is to wait the effect of this program. Anyway it is just an experimental way to our Educational System. Let us not close our mind to this change. We are waiting and hoping in positive effect of the K to 12 Curriculum Program.
