Being a science teacher is such a huge responsibility and this should be equalled with great characteristics.  That is why as a science teacher of the new K to 12 curriculum you must be endowed with remarkable characteristics which will not only be advantageous to your teaching profession but also to your learning agents…the students.

                The following are the qualities which will personify a K to 12 Science teacher:

 

           A. Be a wide-reader.

 

A science teacher should be miles and miles ahead from others in terms of science. He/she must be fond of reading various books and other references to be enriched on the subject.  Little knowledge is dangerous so a science teacher must have an abundant supply of information about the subject area.

 

B. Be very inquisitive.

 

 

Science teachers should not only be contented on the existing knowledge and not only be satisfied on books instead he/she should think inquisitively to further soar in teaching the subject. Furthermore, science teachers must be adept with the latest trends and updates in teaching the subject.

 

C. Be so resourceful.

 

 

As a science teacher, you have to utilize a lot of learning materials and teaching devices in order to dynamically educate the youth. Find the best ways to reach out for these things which will supplement your teaching of the subject.

 

D. Be confidently creative.

 

The presence of art can also be seen in teaching science.  Therefore, K to 12 science teachers should be confidently creative in exhibiting the lessons in various ways.  The students will be more stimulated and inspired to learn because of the K to 12 science teacher.

 

E. Be extremely active

 

The students love to see very active educators.  Much more they are excited to meet lively and vigorous science teachers.  Boredom will be removed when active science teachers are present.

 

F. Be destinctly creative

 

Innovation is the name of the game.  Science teachers of the new curriculum are much innovative for they follow the newest ways of educating the learners at present.
