Are we actually ready on the upcoming Grade 11? Does the Department of Education properly educate the students and the parents about the said educational system? Are there sufficient and effective educators in each strand?
Prior to the implementation of the K 12 curriculum guide, the Philippines was one of only three countries in the world and the only one in Asia that still had only 10 years in basic education.
This has always been seen as a disadvantage for our students who are competing in an increasingly global job market. The longer educational cycle of the K 12 curriculum is seen as critical in giving Filipino students a higher quality of education. The change in educational system implemented by the Philippine president Benigno Aquino and it started at 2011.
First, nevertheless, majority of public and private schools in the Philippines made a massive development in term of facilities and equipping of their educators to reach the requisite that the senior high school twisted, to deliver a good and quality education that can compete around the globe.
Second, since this program was launched the Department of Education continuous educates the students and their parents about the new education system. However, based on the saying that “You cannot please everybody” some of them are in favor and the others are not. So even if they had already the knowledge they don’t want to change. To the Contrary DEPED do not loss their optimism instead believes on the saying “Everything has their own right time” the time will come that community will accept the K to 12 systems as their own educational system. Besides, they left with no choice but to go after.
Third, every year there are always new teachers passed into the Licensure Exam and adds in the group of professionals and every year there is an applicant in very public or private schools, So without a doubt that there are lots of educators in the Philippines who are willing to commit themselves in teaching with a proper remuneration.
In the end, we must geared up ourselves, since the K to 12 is almost at this time to incorporate the system of education, we must ready our expectations in a wide range of expectancy that this system will bring greater opportunity in our nation to contend outside realm. Besides there is still time to equip ourselves in the new Educational system, and that time is TODAY.
