Based on our learning in school knowledge management is the collection of processes for discovery, acquisition, creation, processing, retrieval, dissemination, and utilization of knowledge.  That is why knowledge management is very significant in the field of education.

As an educator, there are three basic questions that we have to give to our learners during the teaching-learning process.  What, why and what for are the things to be answered in order to realize knowledge within our educational clientele.

What question must initially be known. The learner will be taught of the data and information they need to know.  These are the basics and raw materials that they have to acquire in the process of learning.

Why question must eventually be answered. They have to realize the reasons behind these data and information.  They must be educated on the rationale of these things for them to willingly grasp and absorb them.  Having motivated would be very much inviting.

Consequently, the learners must know What for. The educators must inculcate in the hearts and mind of the children the real usage and utilization of knowledge not only in school but also in practical life as well.

Along the process of knowledge management, we are made to acquire data, transform them into information and eventually develop them as knowledge and finally as wisdom.

The teachers must be able to instill these three basic questions to the pupils or students in order to have retention of knowledge within them.

Knowledge could have its value and real essence if they are managed very well through the so called Knowledge Management.

Knowledge management is actually being practiced by philosophers, priests, political leaders, scribes, librarians, journalists, editors and of course by the teachers.

Always bear in mind that knowledge management is for decisions we make and for the actions we take.
