A leadership style is a leader’s style of providing direction, implementing plans and motivating people. There are many different styles that can be exhibited by leaders in Education, in the political or other fields.
Effective leaders are often able to inspire others to succeed. Management leadership is about finding different ways to meet the needs of your employees and of your organization. There is no single correct management leadership style. The best leadership style is the one that meets the challenges you are facing and the needs of the group you are leading. Effective leaders are often flexible to suit changing circumstances.
Here are some leadership styles:
- CLASSIC style of leadership describe how much control the leader gives little direction to subordinates and allow to get on with things. It works best when workers are highly trained. In contrast, an autocratic style is one where leaders exert control over most aspects of work and give little scope for workers to think for themselves. The participate style of leadership stresses teamwork to increase performance.
- TRANSFORMATIONAL STYLES it posses a vision of where they want the company to go and charisma and skills to implement that vision or goal.
- PARTICIPATIVE STYLES This is a democratic style of leadership, where the leader uses individual employee’s knowledge and skills to help build a consensus the direction of the organization or the system.
