Democracy in learning and studying has been the focus of the educational settings. It had curved the idea and the passion of the teachers as well as igniting the passion of the students to become fully inclined on politics where the curiosity and the innocence on the economic state of the country are broken. This curiosity will break the silence among the students which must include themselves on the political issues in the country since involvement will only mean one thing-contribution to the needs of the society. What matters most specifically is how to involve the students in the event and in the learning inside the classroom.
To explore the relationship between democracy and education, a wide range of educational scholars whose disciplinary training, philosophical and political orientations must differ from one another and must have posed and sought answers to questions which must be answered initially by the teacher. Inside the classroom, the way in which different interest groups’ define and interpret the concept of politics and its parcel therefore, be classified along a continuum in terms of how well they succeed in explaining the meanings and implications within the larger social, cultural and political context through the teachers in the classroom as this is explain thoroughly.
At one end of the continuum on the political side, it is understood simply as ‘‘a form of governance’’ at the other end, it is seen as ‘‘a mode of associated living, of conjoint communicated experience’’ . It is the latter understanding that helps students see the interrelation and interdependence of democracy, politics and education. In this sense, the process is not viewed as complete with the establishment of a rather, it is seen as a continuing project that goes hand in hand with education. From this perspective, the goal of education is to create civic unity and democratic citizenship characterized by mutually shared interests. Schools are expected to play a central role in realizing these ends by enabling the teacher to engage ‘‘not simply in the training of individuals, but in the formation of the proper social life’’. A teacher dedicated to democratic education tries to pave way for ‘‘the empowerment of free and equal citizens, people who are willing and able to share together in shaping their own society’’. The teacher’s efforts to raise such citizens can best be realized in democratic schools which endorse a free flow of ideas, including marginal ones, and encourage critical thinking, and reflection on a range of ideas, opinions, and policies.”
With this, to focused on the reasons that to become competent, students should be equipped with the appropriate skills to deal with the different challenges that they may encounter inside and outside the classroom as the political issues as they are thrown in the learning set up does not always win the crowd. It is something more competent and a complex one which is not popular among the current generations since the political issues are not the mere subject of discussions, it is the development of the fact on the current entertainment sections. It is very important that students are engaged and involved in their learning process so that they can adapt the skills and strategies for them to become responsible learners. It is important that students will develop their learning skills and strategies because these are life-long learning skills that they can use not only for higher learning but in their future endeavors in life.
