Last vacation, the students probably have an inactive lifestyle. They usually eat and sleep a lot without doing anything. Those days are over because the school year has already started and we need to get physically fit. For the month of June, the MAPEH Teachers assess the students if they fit enough for the different activities.
Physical Fitness Test is being done during MAPEH classes. It begins in measuring the weight and height of the students. It will be used for getting the BMI or Body Mass Index of the students. It ranges from underweight, normal, overweight and obese. Knowing the BMI of the students will help the teachers determined if they are malnourish or not. If they are considered malnourish, can be part of the feeding program in our school. Aside from BMI, Cardiovascular Endurance, Strength and Flexibility are also measured.
In measuring Cardiovascular Endurance they undergone the 3 Minute Step Test. It will help to determine whether the student has a heart disease or any cardiovascular related diseases. For strength, they do the push-ups and basic plank. Its purpose is to know if they have strong muscles and bones. Last for the heath related is the Flexibility. The zipper test and the sit and reach it will determine if yur muscles are flexible. Over all the health related fitness is used to assess the body of the students if they have good built and strong muscles.
The other components under the Physical Fitness Test is the Skill Related Test. It includes Coordination, Agility, Speed, Power, Balance and Reaction Time. Its main target is to know the skills of the students that they can apply in different sports by doing the juggling, hexagon agility test, 40 meter sprint, standing long jump and stork balance test.
