In global scale aside from the threats of terrorism, the phenomenon brought about by climate change has given us the opportunity to use the special gift that was given to us in overcoming the odds.

          The recent typhoons that wreaked havoc in the Philippines has affected thousands of lives and destroyed innumerable properties in the recent years. Every Filipino, even those who are not affected are praying and hoping that it will be the last. One thing is sure though, with the climate change anything can happen.

          In the Olympics Games, world records are broken as the competitions intensify. The record speed, lift, length, time and other winning standards are all bound to happen in man’s quest to achieve. The same thing holds true with the show of the devastating power of the typhoons coming into our country. With super typhoons, expect that they will shatter the records of their predecessors.

          Even without the heavy rains there can be flood water rushing even during sunny days. The blatant deforestation of the country’s rich greenery is looked at as one of its causes. The lesser roots of trees that will hold water is a logical way to assume that it is.  It may be true when floods are coming from the highlands, but what if the rising of water level happens in the plains?

          The curious mind can ask, “Is it because of an overspill in the increased volume of water in the seas and oceans that surround us?” On the other hand it can also be assumed that the volume of water on earth remains as constant, it only depends as to where water is concentrated at a certain point in time. In putting in a capsule, science has a way to explain the phenomenon.

          As the drama of life continues, every learner is entitled to postulate on things that are given birth by curiosity. Be it known that many breakthroughs in science are conceived from it.
