“Wala ka bang napapansin, sa iyong mga kapaligiran, kay dumi na ng hangin, pati na ang mga ilog natin…” a very familiar old tagalog song that promotes environmental awareness, but sad to say only few are sensitive of environmental problems that our planet is facing.
The air we breathe, the water we drink are already contaminated with dirt and pollutants. Toxins and various gases released by industries and factories are the main cause of respiratory and digestive tract diseases in children and adult.
Look at the river, and other bodies of water, it is polluted, there are excessive amount of waste floating on it, decayed animals, plastic, inorganic waste, baby diapers including human feces. Look at the mountains! Where are the trees that support the soil to avoid landslide or erosion. What happened in our environment?
Oh, please get up, wake up! We need to do something; you and me let us protect our environment for future generation. Let us save our planet earth. There are little things to do to make a less harmful impact on the environment. Taking care of environment is our responsibility.
