Vision is the direction as to what, where, when, why and how an organization can accomplish its goal within a given timeframe. Vision can be defined further as the unified motivational symbol of an organization’s quest for its future either on short or long term. In like manner, the trajectory of synchronized actions can be drawn where the organization is heading in the presence of a vision.
There has to be a good lea to work on a swell-managed vision. As vision guides the implementation role of leaders, there is a need for them to improve on their capacity as vision-makers too. In perspective, it can help make leaders proactive in the process of managing and implementing the course of action to accomplish the expected results as tasked.
Rather than leading on the edge, there are numerous advantages for leaders when they possess visionary qualities. Leaders can be more adept in dealing with situations that may crop up within their jurisdiction. Their visionary mindset makes them better prepared for the tasks ahead. It will enable them to facilitate the necessary course of action effectively through efficient means of handling the phases and stages of the development process. As visionaries, they can easily adjust to changes.
A visionary leader is also equipped in making good forecasts in developing the plan for the months ahead. This is an aspect of leadership that enables a leader to make the necessary adjustments in problem areas in their proper time. Before it even becomes a concern to deal with, bottlenecks that may hamper productivity can be addressed at the earliest possible time. Hence, a visionary at work can also be good with time management, handling of resources, and building relationship with people.
It is true that many endeavors fail to hit their mark because no plan was made for them. But even a good plan will not make it through the expectation in the absence of leaders possessing the vision on how the plan will materialize with the desired results. It goes to say that leaders who are committed in carrying the vision of the organization are result-oriented individuals too. It has been said many times that skills are not enough to efficiently complete a certain task without the proper attitude put into it.
Visionary are the leaders who direct the implementation process according to the organization’s vision. They work by it, they see by it and without doubt they live by the vision as planned.
